Front-Office Administration 5 Day Certification
As our most extensive course, this training takes you through every aspect of an administrator’s responsibilities in a dental office. You’ll learn not only how to handle filing, billing, bookkeeping, and data entry, but how to interact with patients and other essential office management skills. This course will help you to understand the full scope of dental administration, how to prioritize tasks, and organizing your day efficiently to maximize your effectiveness at the front desk.
Once you complete this course, you’ll receive a certification in dental office administration, identifying you as a skilled and valuable candidate. If you are early in or looking to start a career in dental office administration, being certified will not only open doors for you, but will empower you to take charge in the office quickly and become a great asset to the practice.
Here are some of the things you can expect us to cover in this five-day course:
- Computer Training – You’ll learn essential skills like scheduling appointments, registering new patients, how to enter clinical notes and patient charting, creating management reports, and much more.
- Insurance Billing – A vital task in any office, we’ll show you how to complete insurance billing properly, make adjustments, follow up on unpaid claims, and avoid common billing mistakes.
- Scheduling & Patient Interaction – As the front line of the practice, you’ll need to know how to create a great first impression through exceptional customer service both in-person and on the phone. We’ll even cover how to market your practice both internally and externally.
- Treatment Planning & Case Presentation – You’ll regularly coordinate with the dentist to devise individualized treatment plans for the patient. Patients will also come to you for help in understanding co-payments and financing options. We’ll teach you how to assist with clear and effective communication.
Medical-Dental Insurance Billing 1 Day Workshop
Today’s emphasis on the connection between oral and overall health has opened avenues for dental practices to apply to a patient’s medical insurance for select procedures. To help your practice take full advantage of this opportunity, we offer an extensive one-day workshop that will answer questions and provide clarity on how to access this vital revenue stream.
Topics we will cover include:
- Integrating medical billing into the dental practice for medically necessary procedures
- Which procedures are medically billable
- How responsibilities are divided between the various team members
- Essential documentation
- SOAP notes
- CPT, ICD and HCPCS codes
- Completing the CMS-1500 medical claim form
- Available medical billing systems
To help make our training even more valuable and practical, we invite attendees to present real-life scenarios for us to discuss and strategize.
Dental Insurance Billing 2-Day Course
As one of the most important and most frequently-used skills for an administrator, being able to effectively bill a patient’s dental insurance can decide whether your practice succeeds. Our two-day course offers firsthand knowledge and in-depth training in the billing process. Small class sizes allow everyone to receive personalized instruction from Becky and get answers to your questions.
Over two days of teaching, we’ll cover all aspects of modern billing that will help you avoid common mistakes and positively represent your office to insurance companies. Training is offered in multiple filing systems, including Dentrix, EagleSoft, OpenDental, and SoftDent. Our students will be empowered with a comprehensive understanding of benefit limitations, frequencies, and insurance contracts. You’ll also learn how to build a system to follow up on payments and collect out-of-pocket payments at the time of service.
What Does an In-Person Training Day Look Like?
Whether you’re attending our five-day course or a one-day workshop, our schedules are designed to maximize your instructional gain while providing a fun and refreshing experience. A typical day will start at 9 am and end at 4 pm, with an hour given for lunch in between. All students can receive both group and one-on-one instruction from Becky in every course offered.
